life lessons from the east coast
until i came out to massachusetts, i had no idea that so many people were still religious.
i had never even heard of ash wednesday until i got to college. i feel like portland is just a void of most religious activity. i only had a couple friends growing up whose families went to church and none, if any friends who actually believed in god.
everyone on campus has been talking about ash wednesday and it’s still so weird to me.
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN!
I never heard about ash wednesday until I left portland as well…

I’m Catholic and I went to a religious school so it’s always alien to me when people don’t know what it is!I don’t practise anymore as obviously my life doesn’t fit in with the church now but it’s always going to be a part of who I am.//Overshare
